Quartz Countertop FAQ

What is the difference between quartz and granite?

Quartz is an engineered surface made from crushed quartz and resin. It is non-porous, does not need sealing and has a consistent color. Granite is a natural stone with unique patterns and better heat tolerance.

Is quartz heat resistant?

Quartz handles everyday use well, but very hot pans can damage the resin. We recommend using trivets for pots and pans straight from the stove or oven.

Can quartz be used outdoors?

Most quartz brands do not recommend outdoor use because direct sunlight can fade the color over time. For outdoor kitchens, granite or quartzite is usually a better choice.

Do you install quartz in Park City?

Yes. We fabricate quartz countertops in our Ogden shop and install them in Park City, Deer Valley, Kimball Junction and Heber City.
